For many years, mending and darning kept more life in my own clothing. I knew the worn heel, the pulled thread, the dangling button, and the place where the cloth grows thin. Building from scratch came later.
In the summer of 2024 I bought a Friendly Loom beginners knitting kit at Harrisville Designs. From knitting garments and hats, the work moved into crochet, spinning on spindles and wheels, then more sewing. Moribund Crafts came out of that widening practice, the "rabbit hole", and the small tools that kept gathering at the bottom of every bag.
The wallets hold stitch markers, tape measures, needles, snips, and flat tools. Leather pieces I cut and sew by hand, usually with some in stock. Fabric versions of these wallets, and their project bag cousins, come from canvas, upholstery cloth, twill, or similar durable fabric. What I don't stock, I make to order. When the sewing machine makes sense, I use it, then finish each piece by hand.
The workshops came later, when people started asking how things were put together. I teach fellow makers to sew a fabric needle wallet by hand: running stitch, back stitch, whip stitch. For other small projects, I can adapt the session if you have something in mind.
